I’m Ashray Shetty. My background brings together biomedical research, applied machine learning, data engineering, and technical education.
Scientific foundations
I completed an MSc in Neuroscience and Translational Medicine at Queen Mary University of London and a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Roehampton.
As a Research Assistant at the Blizard Institute (2015–2017), I developed simulation models for drug–receptor interactions, analysed qPCR results, supported siRNA knockdown experiments, and contributed to collaborative research on Galectin-3 and inflammation following traumatic brain injury.
Related publication: Yip et al., Galectin-3 released in response to traumatic brain injury acts as an alarmin orchestrating brain immune response and promoting neurodegeneration, Scientific Reports (2017). DOI: 10.1038/srep41689.
Data and technical education
After teaching science, I moved into data coaching and technical programme development at Multiverse and Corndel. My work included interactive learning resources, analytics and engineering curriculum, and mentoring people through applied data projects.
Current work
My recent independent work investigates biomedical knowledge graphs and link prediction, focusing on NLRP3 and LGALS3. I am interested in how data representation, evaluation, and the surrounding evidence affect the interpretation of a prediction.
I also collaborate with a doctoral researcher on a posture-assessment prototype; my current contribution focuses on synthetic datasets and database design. This is a research prototype in development.
What I’m looking for
I’m interested in healthcare AI, applied data science, data engineering, and technical consulting opportunities. I bring scientific context, practical data skills, and experience helping people work through complex methods.
